This month Congress will begin reauthorizing federal highway and transit dollars. To kick things off, the U.S. Congressional Transportation & Infrastructure Committee will hold a series of field hearings around the country, including a February 18th stop in Rochester.
The upcoming field hearings will address transportation strategy and needs. The first one will take place in Beckley, W.Va., four days before the hearing in Rochester. Other hearings will be held in Indianapolis, the Chicago area, Scranton, Pa., Oklahoma City, Fresno, Calif., Los Angeles and Vancouver, Wash.
When these field hearings were announced on February 2
, Committee Chairman John L. Mica (R-FL) said "The best ideas to improve and streamline government programs often come from outside of Washington, and before we draft any legislation these meetings will provide the Committee with valuable insight and information."
And a Town Hall Meeting...
