From local development to just plain news of the weird, here are your RocLinks for this past week...
The Big Finale
So Charlotte, huh? The marina's open, but after 4 years the city has dumped Edgewater

for well, nothing right now. A new RFP I suppose. Good luck to Charlotte getting the project they've always wanted (whatever that is). Maybe they could respond to the RFP when it comes out?
The Wettest Halprin
Great news mid-century, brutalist, landscape architecture buffs! The city is turning the water back on

at MLK Park. I hope it's still on next time I'm in town so I can see it.
Teeth Cleaning
The Eastman Dental Dispensary has been undergoing renovations

for the past year or so. Some back of the envelope calculations from the article suggest that Home Leasing spent about $500psf on the apartments, making them easily twice as expensive as anything else in the city. They're also renting them out at $1.25psf, or a quarter of the expected amount. Sounds like the deal of the century to me, so go seniors!
Onward Mexico
The manager of one of my favorite bars in Rochester, The Revelry, is opening his own bar

in NOTA. It will be dedicated to the Mexican Spirit Mezcal. Sounds like another delicious opening to me, and since it's right in the city, you can easily stumble home from it.
Can I Be Electric too?
And finally, Troy Rank, founder of the Rochester based electric bike company Maxwell Motorbikes, has a thorough interview

over at the Post. Full disclaimer, I'm married to a cousin of Mr. Rank's, but came to this link completely on my own. Small world. That said, e-bikes are awesome (another disclaimer - I own one, although not one of Troy's - sorry if he's reading this), and I highly recommend them, especially with the parking crunch at the beach. * * *
Have a great holiday weekend (Happy Birthday America), and as always, use the comments below as open discussion for anything in these links - or let us know if there's a topic you'd like to see us hit more aggressively in future RocLinks. Have a great weekend!
