This article was scraped from Rochester Subway. This is a blog about Rochester history and urbanism has not been published since 2017. The current owners are now publishing link spam which made me want to preserve this history.. The original article was published May 28, 2016 and can be found here.
From local development to just plain news of the weird, here are your RocLinks for this past week...
Now You See it...
It seems the artwork at the airport is disappearing
at an alarming rate. While I do think we need to keep it fresh, at least announcing some kind of rotation would set minds at ease. It would be a shame to see the works completely gone, especially for just ads.
Charlotte
Hey, remember Charlotte? I do. Well new plans were shown
this week. If the hotel comes out half as nice as these renderings, I'll be impressed.
Size Matters
...But maybe not how you might think. A local builder is taking a swing
at the tiny house trend. It's not bad, but I am not sure it'll work in Rochester without some zoning changes or a really above average design.
It Lives!
The Twilight Criterium ride is back
this year. Give it a spin, and have a good time out there.
Send More Parks
Are you one of the people who thinks there just isn't enough green space in the city despite never using any of the parks in town? Well you're in luck, as the Preservation Society threw open the gates
to St. Joseph's Park this year.
The Best, Jerry
And finally, Rochester recently had not one, but two of it's stellar watering holes named best in the country.
I know what you're thinking, "Swan's isn't a bar!" And you're right, but if you're going there and not drinking beer, you might be doing it wrong. * * *
