This article was scraped from Rochester Subway. This is a blog about Rochester history and urbanism has not been published since 2017. The current owners are now publishing link spam which made me want to preserve this history.. The original article was published May 15, 2016 and can be found here.
From local development to just plain news of the weird, here are your RocLinks for this past week...
Cannot Go to Moe's
The corner of the Sagamore continues to take its toll on businesses that try to open and succeed there. This week Moe's announced
its closing. I know Java's is around the corner, and Dunkin Donuts is across the street, but I am personally surprised that a Starbucks isn't here. I mean, we're talking about a company on the level of McDonalds, whereby there is a Starbucks in front of a Target with a Starbucks in it.
West Rochester
In a move to catch up, West Rochester (nee Buffalo) announced a master bike plan.
Welcome to the club, our western friends!
These Boots were Made for Walking
A woman has now walked
every street in Rochester. All 544 miles of them. I hope she didn't notice anything suspicious walking by your house.
Start (Franchise) Something
There will be a seminar
on getting started with your own franchise next week. If you've ever wondered how you can make that Starbucks I mentioned above happen (but not a Starbucks, specifically - they're all corporately owned), this is your chance to find out.
Festive!
And finally, I missed this last week, but here's a guide
to all the festivals happening in Rochester this summer. Have a good time and remember to festivate safely out there. * * *
