The Arts

Local artist collective Hope Mountain (who you'll be hearing a ton more about on Monday!) is     having a poster sale

at     Needle Drop Records

on Saturday at noon. Go for the art, stay for the music.

Date Night!

585 Mag has some     date night suggestions

that they finally put online from their January issue (it's really hard to link to print!). With any luck, the suggestions will double up as advice to keep warm as well.

Midtown Minus the Mid and Town

You might recall that we've previously discussed     Site 5    at Midtown (     multiple times    ). Well now I'm happy to report that the city has     rejected both proposals

! Look forward to a decade of a dirt lot followed by a performing arts center followed by a casino followed by a bail bonds and pawn shop to be built at the site (this is my not-so-professional prediction).

And finally, we're stuck reporting way out in the suburbs, this time Victor, because a story like     this one

doesn't happen every day. A diamond ring makes for some pretty sharp cheddar, if you catch my drift!    * * *
