RocLinks 2/28/15

This article was scraped from Rochester Subway. This is a blog about Rochester history and urbanism has not been published since 2017. The current owners are now publishing link spam which made me want to preserve this history.. The original article was published February 27, 2015 and can be found here.

You might have stepped out of your house any day this month and thought to yourself, 'Self, it's kinda cold out. Maybe even colder than normal.' If you did,     you're correct

, it was the coldest month on record. If you did not, then please consult your doctor.

From local development to just plain news of the weird, here are your RocLinks for this past week...

Local artist collective Hope Mountain is having a poster sale.

The Arts

Local artist collective Hope Mountain (who you'll be hearing a ton more about on Monday!) is     having a poster sale

at     Needle Drop Records

on Saturday at noon. Go for the art, stay for the music.

Date Night!

585 Mag has some     date night suggestions

that they finally put online from their January issue (it's really hard to link to print!). With any luck, the suggestions will double up as advice to keep warm as well.

Midtown Minus the Mid and Town

You might recall that we've previously discussed     Site 5    at Midtown (     multiple times    ). Well now I'm happy to report that the city has     rejected both proposals

! Look forward to a decade of a dirt lot followed by a performing arts center followed by a casino followed by a bail bonds and pawn shop to be built at the site (this is my not-so-professional prediction).

NOMNOMNOM

And finally, we're stuck reporting way out in the suburbs, this time Victor, because a story like     this one

doesn't happen every day. A diamond ring makes for some pretty sharp cheddar, if you catch my drift!    * * *

As always, use the comments below as open discussion for anything in these links - or let us know if there's a topic you'd like to see us hit more aggressively in future RocLinks. Have a great weekend!
