Rochester Subway Super Bowl Ad Featuring 50 Cent

This article was scraped from Rochester Subway. This is a blog about Rochester history and urbanism has not been published since 2017. The current owners are now publishing link spam which made me want to preserve this history.. The original article was published February 07, 2010 and can be found here.

It's been widely reported that RochesterSubway.com is spending millions on a new Super Bowl TV spot this year featuring rapper and hip hop megastar 50 Cent. We're not going to rain on the parade--maybe the ad will air during the Super Bowl, maybe it won't. You'll have to watch the game to find out. But you won't have to wait to see it. Watch the spot... then read the rest of this post to find out how we got 50 to star in our Rochester Subway production...

Okay, so you've watched the commercial a few times and you're a bit skeptical. That's cool. So are we. That's why we like you.

Truth is, 50 Cent has no idea he's in our ad. He probably doesn't even know Rochester exists. So how'd we do it? First,     get yourself a Facebook account    (and make sure you have a profile picture). Next,     visit      www.myspace.com/fanvideo    and log in using your Facebook username. The app is simple: it imports your profile photo using Facebook Connect, and inserts it into one of a half dozen music videos from big name artists like Alicia Keys, Chipmunk, and 50 Cent.

So try it out and share your videos with us. But make sure you      fan RocSubway on Facebook    first! If you don't, we may just have 50 pay you a visit.
