This article was scraped from Rochester Subway. This is a blog about Rochester history and urbanism has not been published since 2017. The current owners are now publishing link spam which made me want to preserve this history.. The original article was published October 06, 2010 and can be found here.

. Running from October 8 through October 10, River Romance this year highlights Rochester's return to the river with a focus on impressive new development along the waterfront. In addition, River Romance will, as always, offer a cornucopia of events and activities focused on the river's ecology and history that will both inform and inspire. All activities and events are free unless otherwise noted in the schedule. River cruises, guided tours of the river and gorge, light & music shows, and parades are just some of the festivities this weekend.

River Romance will kick off on Friday, October 8 at 2 p.m. with an opening ceremony at the El Camino Trail at the corner of Clifford and Conkey Avenues. Mayor Duffy will cut the ribbon with the Genesee Land Trust for a new playground, and the Mayor will announce the weekend's activities. Trails like El Camino are key connections between neighborhoods and waterways.
