Bernice Ferenc, 85 year old Irondequoit woman missing since Feb. 12 2009

You may have already heard about     Mrs. Bernice Ferenc    , an 85 year old Irondequoit woman who went missing on February 12, 2009. Well, with my head wrapped up in my blog I had not heard the story--until I woke up Sunday morning and heard a request for volunteers to help in the search effort. Being a resident of Irondequoit, and having a mother myself, I hopped in my car and went to see how I could help. You can help too...

Volunteers were briefed by the Irondequoit Police Dept. and asked simply to drive around Monroe County and look for the missing womans car (a 1995 Oldsmobile Delta 88 similar to the one pictured below). The community turn-out was awesome and literally hundreds of people took to the streets that day to search for Mrs. Ferencs Oldsmobile. Unfortunately she is still missing and Id like to ask for your help...

Here are the details:

Ferenc is about 5 feet tall and weights 95 pounds. She has graying hair and sometimes wears glasses. She is believed to be wearing a black coat, dark pants, carrying a brown purse and may be wearing a light-colored knit hat.

Ferenc was last seen shopping at Wegmans at 2200 East Ridge Road and left there at 9:40 a.m. on Thursday, February 12, but is not believed to have returned back to her home after shopping.

Investigators have reason to believe Ferenc was alone and operating her car, a white 1995 Olds Delta 88, four-door sedan, APK-6566, on Hudson Avenue at Norton Street at 10:52 a.m.

Her family has increased the initial reward for information leading to her discovery to $10,000.

If you see Mrs. Ferenc or her vehicle, or if you have any information that may be helpful, please call Crimestoppers at (585) 423-9300.
