We tend to forget that as recently as the 1930s Cannabis was listed as a medical prescription in the U.S. But while doing some research today, I came across this ad (shown above) from the 1895 Rochester City Directory for Cannabis Sativa being sold out of the Powers Building in downtown Rochester.
"The East India Consumption Cure" for nervous conditions, consumption, breathing problems, sleep problems, and a host of other medical conditions.
As they say, what goes around, comes around.
