RocSubway followers do not want to miss this event. It's also the final lecture in this series entitled     Reshaping Rochester    hosted by the     Rochester Regional Community Design Center    .

UPDATE: Listen to the lecture here...

Jacky Grimshaw has led an inspiring career in the area of public policy, and more currently, transit-oriented development. She has passionately contributed to the sustainability movement in the economic, social, and environmental realms. She inspires us to return to a more human-scale lifestyle and retreat from the suburban sprawl that has dominated planning initiatives of the last century. Grimshaw is also an advocate for     Transit Oriented Development (TOD)    as a solution to the growing problems of global warming and peak oil. TOD works towards the creation of compact, walkable communities centered around high quality train systems, improving the quality of life without the dependence on cars. Let's take notes Rochester!
