This article was scraped from Rochester Subway. This is a blog about Rochester history and urbanism has not been published since 2017. The current owners are now publishing link spam which made me want to preserve this history.. The original article was published November 22, 2015 and can be found here.

Rochestersubway.com was first brought to my attention when I saw the University of Rochester's Lost Swimming Pool article posted on social media. The photos were so beautiful and haunting that I was inspired to explore more on the site.
I was just starting to get into urban exploring and Rochestersubway.com showed me amazing locations in Rochester that I had never heard of. So I started to use the website as a reference for new places to explore...
In my exploration of Rochester, I recently found these abandoned cars in the Four Mile Creek Preserve
trails in Webster.
I found out that the town purchased these 72 acres in 2004 under the open space referendum. Still a mystery on where the cars came from. They have bullet holes in them and there is a bunch of glass and trash through out the trails.
For these photos, I wanted a dreamlike effect and I hoped smoke bombs would help me achieve this. I have seen smoke bombs used in other artist's photographs so I had an idea of the effect they would create.
Because smoke bombs only last sixty seconds, my friend and I had to work fast to capture the image. I hope you enjoy the photographs as much as I enjoyed taking them.
Thank you, RochesterSubway.com for sharing my work. * * *
