A REAL Small Town: Rochester Miniatures

A REAL Small Town: Rochester Miniatures

This article was scraped from Rochester Subway. This is a blog about Rochester history and urbanism has not been published since 2017. The current owners are now publishing link spam which made me want to preserve this history.. The original article was published August 27, 2009 and can be found here.

A few weeks ago we showed you     an amazing model railroad    in Hamburg Germany called Miniature Wunderland. After we posted that story, let's just say we were inspired.

May I present to you... Rochester Miniatures...

A miniature scale model of the Rochester Aqueduct... seriously??

Is this the smallest skyscraper in world? Xerox Tower?

Xerox Tower and Bausch & Lomb Headquarters (Downtown Rochester)

An itsy-bitsy University of Rochester campus?

A teeny-weeny George Eastman House?

Not fooled? You caught us. These aren't actually pictures of teeny weeny scale models... they are real aerial photographs of Rochester with a photographic technique known as "tilt-shift" applied to them. Got a camera and a copy of Photoshop? Check out this     Photoshop tutorial    and give it a try. We'd love to see what you come up with.
